Resources and Settings for Administrators
This page explains how to update account settings, call for technical support, and post feedback on Codebashing. In addition, it links to communication and learning platforms and a knowledge base.
From the menu, select Resources for additional external resources.
To access the Checkmarx Blog on Codebashing, select Blog from the Resources menu.
To access the Codebashing documentation suite, select Knowledge Base from the Resources menu.
To access the Checkmarx eBooks and white papers, select AppSec University from the Resources menu.
At the toolbar, click . The content of the current release note version appears.
Next to your email address in the upper right corner, click the arrow and select Account Settings from the menu.
Add or update the desired settings as illustrated and explained in the table below. Some settings differ for authenticating via SSO or via user name and password.

Full Name | Your clear name (first and last name) |
Content Language | The language of courses, assessments, challenges and tournaments. The default is English. If you select a different language, the content appears in the selected language while the Codebashing interface remains in English. NoteIf you select a language that is unavailable for your content, the respective content appears in English. |
Nickname | Your nickname in Codebashing that can be used instead of the email address to identify you to your team colleagues. Users are assigned a default nickname that can be customized. |
Your email address, which serves as your default username. NoteThe email address cannot be changed at a later stage. | |
<Update> | Click to update the profile settings. |
Change Password | |
Current Password | Enter your current password. NoteThis option does not show, if you are authenticating via SSO. |
New Password | Enter the desired new password. NoteThis option does not show, if you are authenticating via SSO. |
Password Confirmation | Enter the new password again. NoteThis option does not show, if you are authenticating via SSO. |
<Update> | Click to update the new password in the system. |
Lesson Customizations | |
<Off> Enable users to submit content | Disables users to submit lesson content. |
<On> | Enables users to submit lesson content. |
<Off> Notify me by email when users add new content | No email notifications is received when a user added new content. |
<On> | You receive an email notifications when a user added new content. |
<Update> | Click to update the permissions and notifications for users to submit lesson content. |
Course Preferences | |
<Off> Enable users to change their primary course | Users are unable to switch to a different primary course. |
<On> | Enables users to switch to a different primary course. |
<Update> | Click to update the system with your choice of authorizing users to change their primary course or not. |
Notification Preferences | |
<Off> Unsubscribe from all notification emails | Users receive notification emails according to the selected status report email frequency, and news updates. If Unsubscribe from all notification emails is set to <Off>, you receive news updates only. |
<On> | Users are not receiving notification emails and no news updates. |

SAML Settings | |
Custom SAML Attribute # | Enter the SAML attribute, for example, title. NoteThis option does not show if you are authenticating via username and password. |
Display Name. | Enter the displayed name in the interface for the respective attribute, for example, Title. NoteThis option does not show if you are authenticating via username and password. |
<Update> | Click to update the SAML attribute mapping. |
Custom Configuration | |
Logout URL | Enter the URL of the site to appear after users log off Codebashing, for example, https://www.google.com. If left empty, the URL defined as the browser’s homepage appears upon logging off Codebashing. NoteIf you are authenticating via username and password, this option does not show. In this case, the login page appears when logging off. |

Support Request | |
Contact Support Email | Enter the email address as a support contact for users. |
<Update> | Click to update the support email address for the users that you just entered. |
Self Registration | |
<Off> Create link for users to self-register for Codebashing | Disables the option to self-register. In this case, a Codebashing admin user has to send an invitation. |
<On> | Allows the admin user to create a link that your team members can use to register themselves for Codebashing. NoteThe self-registration option is unavailable, if you are authenticating via SSO. |
<Off> Restrict registration to specific emails | Allows anyone who has access to the self-registration link to register. |
<On> | Allows only users whose email addresses belong to one of the authorized email domains to register using the self-registration link. |
Email Domains | Enter the email domains whose members are authorized to self-register with a comma and no space in between, for example like domain1.com,domain2.com. NoteThis option is unavailable for editing, if Restrict registration to specific emails is set to <Off>. |
<Update> | Click to update your settings. If you allow self-registration, the link :link_white: to the self-registration page becomes available. To broadcast the link to the relevant audience, click :link_white: Share Link to copy it into the clipboard. From there, you can paste it into an email or other means of communication to invite the relevant users. For additional information on how users register, refer to Joining Codebashing. |

<Off> Display nicknames for users instead of email addresses on user pages | Displays the email addresses of users in the various lists to identify them. |
<On> | Displays the nicknames of users instead of their email addresses in the various lists. |
<Update> | Click to update whether email addresses or nicknames are displayed to identify the users. |
Manager Permissions | |
<Off> Enable managers to create assessments for their teams | Managers are unable to create assessments. |
<On> | Managers are able to create assessments for the members of their teams. |
<Off> Enable managers to create and launch tournaments for their teams | Managers are unable to create and launch tournaments. |
<On> | Managers are able to create and launch tournaments for the members of their teams. |
<Off> Enable managers to create custom courses | Managers are unable to create custom courses. |
<On> | Managers are able to create custom courses. |
<Off> Enable managers to invite users | Managers are unable to invite users. |
<On> | Managers are able to invite users and assign them to their teams. |
<Update> | Click to update the manager permissions. NoteThe manager permissions apply to all managers in the Codebashing system. |
Team Settings | |
Default Team Role for Manager |
NoteThis setting defines a default. Admins can still change the user role of a manager when editing the relevant team. |
<Update> | Click to update the default team role for new managers. |
Next to your email address in the upper right corner, click the arrow and select Contact Support.
Follow the onscreen instructions.

Follow the onscreen instructions.
Click End-User License to open the end-user license agreement.
Next to your email address in the upper right corner, click the arrow and select Sign Out.
